Coffee with the Principal
Coffee with the Principal will be held on Friday, February 1st, at 8:30 AM.  This is  a great opportunity to get to know Mrs. Watson, share ideas, ask questions, and have good conversations.  To take part in this pleases meet at 8:30 AM in the staff lounge, room 1303.

How to Get Your Student Ready for High School and College
Please join the PTSA as we host the Counseling Office's presentation of  "Getting Your Student Ready for High School and College", Thursday, January 31st from 10:00 -11:30 AM, Room 1301.  During the General Meeting, we will elect a nominating committee, and approve changes to our budget.  A light lunch will be provided immediately following the presentation.

8th Grade Student Yearbook Adds
Eighth grade parents!  It is time to submit a congratulatory message to your child who is about to complete his/her middle school years.  Only $25, and it will be published in the upcoming yearbook.  An order form will be passed out during your child's Advisory period this week, and will also soon be on the AOMS website, please visit here to look for an order form with all the information you need.  The due date is February 22, 2008!  Don't miss out.

School Savings Comes to Aviara Oaks Middle
Encourage your student to develop the habit of regularly saving money.  Have them open a Washington Mutual School Savings account during lunch on any Monday.  They will receive the forms needed to open this NO FEE savings account.  Then, each Monday, your students can make deposits at school.    If your student participated in this program in elementary school, then we can bring the account to AOMS.  For more information visit WAMU here, or send us an email at AOMSPTSA@gmail.com to get the process started.

8th Grade Fundraiser
A Sweet Valentine fundraiser for 8th grade promotion activities will be held during lunch the week of February 4-8.  Each Valentine will cost $1 and will have a sweet treat attached, and will be delivered on Valentines Day.  Parents are welcome to participate, too.  You can come in the office and fill out a flyer to have delivered to your child.  If you have questions you can contact Jacquee at jmrenna@msn.com .

8th Grade Promotion
8th Grade Promotion is in  full planning mode.  Would you like to volunteer to help?  If you have a high school student, we can use their help on the night of June 6th.  They will receive community service hours.  Please call or email Jacquee Renna at 760-845-2170 or jmrenna@mas.com .

A teacher "Wish List" has been set up on the AOMS website.  Donate now to help our teachers with their basic classroom necessities.  Click here to view the teachers and their wish lists.  Click on a teacher's name to contact them to ensure the item has not been recently acquired.

CUSD Board Meeting 2/13
The next school board meeting is Wednesday, February 13th, at the CUSD District office, 6225 El Camino Real beginning at 6:00 PM.
