the Decision Making Process!
The
PTSA Nominating Committee is now looking for volunteers to serve on the
2008-2009 PTSA Executive Board. A list of Board Positions can be found

Babysitting
Classes are Back!
Looking
for something to do this summer and make money? American Red Cross
Babysitting Training Course is back by popular demand! The course will
be offered on April 22nd and
April 23rd from 2:15 - 5:30 PM, in Room 1601. This is an
excellent course which teaches safety and safe play, basic care, First Aid,
leadership and caregiving skills and tips on finding babysitting jobs.
The cost is $70. Registration forms can be found in the office or
by clicking here.
All forms should be turned in at the office. Only 12 students allowed
in the class! Registration deadline is April 19th. Questions,
call June Steffy at 804-0313.
AOMS Track and
Field Team
Due
to the fact that the Boys and Girls Club was unable to secure a coach, there
will not be a Track and Field team at AOMS this spring. We apologize for the
late notice and hope to try again next year.
8th Grade Legacy
Tiles
Leave
your "ART" on the school wall and be a part of history.
All 8th graders have an opportunity to personalize tiles that will be
permanently mounted on the school wall for all future years to view.
All tiles cost $25. Deadline to purchase tiles in March 31st.

"Clubs & Organizations Night" on Thursday, April 3rd from 5:00
- 8:30pm in the old gym. Stop by to see what CHS has to offer.
This is for all students and parents.
6th Grade Camp
6th Grade
camp is fast approaching. Please remember that all registration forms
and tuition payments are due in the AOMS office on Tuesday April 1st.
If you are in need of financial assistance contact Mrs. Watson, AOMS
Principal, and/or Mrs. Ruby, Camp Coordinator. Also if your student has any
special medical or dietary needs, the appropriate physician forms must be
completed, signed by your child's physician and returned. If you are
sending medication to camp with your student, it needs to be turned into Mrs.
Harris, AOMS Health Tech, clearly labeled with the students name and physicians
instruction with the health form no later than Tuesday April 15th.

Cabaret Night
You
don't want to miss this years .... "Come To the Cabaret"
A showcase of talents of AOMS students and staff! Friday, May 16th,
2008. Two shows only: 6:00 and 7:30 PM. Reserved Seating is $20
per person, with a limited number being sold. General Seating is $10
per person, with a first come basis seating. Ticket order forms are
available in the AOMS office, or by clicking here.
General seating tickets can be purchased at the Box Office prior to each
show.
All proceeds benefit the AOMS
Drama Department.
Hollywood Nights Concert
On
April 2, 2008, join us for the dinner show feature presentation of the Aviara
Oaks Bands and Orchestras as they perform selections from popular television
hits and the silver screen. General Admission tickets are just $10 per
person with no reserved seating. Children under 4 are free, and there
is a maximum cost of $50 per household. Only a limited number of
tickets are sold. Ticket order forms are available in the front office
and will soon be available on the school website. They can also be
purchased at the Box Office before each show. Each admission ticket
comes complete with dinner, drinks, and dessert. The bands will perform
that evening at 6:00pm; the orchestras will follow with a show at
7:30pm. All proceeds will benefit the AOMS Music Department.

Student Congress
Congratulations
to all students who participated in our inaugural session of Student
Congress. Student Congress is a mock legislative session modeled after
the procedure for floor debate in the legislature. The students did an
outstanding job of arguing both in favor of and against a variety of
resolutions. Participants were Diane Kim, Allie Mason, Jackie Nakamora,
Levi Sebahar, Sydney Saunders, Evan Ridpath, Jenna Memmolo, Emily Oetting,
Julia Chornak, Sara Rubinstein, AJ Reiter, Connie Liu, Bryanna Mundy,
Jennifer Kim, and Jennifer Wolkenstein. Diane Kim, Sara Rubinstein,
Jenna Memmolo, and Jennifer Kim earned Awards of Excellence, and Julia
Chornak and Emily Oetting earned Outstanding Orator awards.
Annual North Coastal
SUPERINTENDENTS FORUM
(Brought to you by
your North Coastal Council PTA)
Take this opportunity to hear first hand from Superintendents of Del mar,
Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach, and San Dieguito School Districts. Superintendents
will give an update on the important issues concerning their district,
followed by a question and answer period. The Forum is scheduled for
Thursday, April 17th, at Solana Pacific Elementary School. The school
is located at 3901 Townsgate Drive, San Diego.

North County Grand Tasting Event - May 3, 2008
FAME, Friends of Aviara Middle and Elementary Schools Foundation announces
its 4th Annual North County Grand Tasting event on May 3, 2008 from 6:00 to
8:00 PM. This annual event raises funds for the middle and
elementary schools to support technology, science, playgrounds and more.
