The 4th Annual Grand
Tasting almost here!
May 3, 2008.
5-8 PM
Don't miss out on attending this year's North County Grand Tasting... This
annual event presented by Friends of Aviara Middle and Elementary Schools
Foundation supports both schools, mainly in the area of technology. Did
you know that without the success of this event, and through generous family
donations through the foundation, neither school would have the new computer
labs and classroom computers? Don't miss out on attending this fun
event, every dollar you spend is tax deductible to the extent allowed by
law! Visit www.FriendsofAviara.com for more information and to purchase tickets. Promo Code
"Aviara" gets you a $10 per person discount.
Donations for Grand
Tasting Silent Auction
We
are putting the call out for silent auction items at this time. Do you
have a good or service you would like to provide to the auction? Do you
have a company that can donate a gift basket or interesting item (tickets to
sporting events or the theater, timeshare or hotel/airline certificates,
restaurant gift certificates)? The sky is the limit.
All donations are tax deductible and benefit nearly 2000 childrens
educations. Please contact Jacquee Renna if you would like to
participate at jmrenna@msn.com
AOMS New Grass and
Trees!!!!

Check
out the before, during, and after photos!!!
Once
again, the staff and students of AOMS would like to thank former Aviara
student and Eagle Scout Matt Williams for the grass and trees that can be
seen on the south side of our parking lot. As a part of his Eagle Scout
community service project, Matt raised enough money (with a small
contribution from our ASB class) to purchase 2,500 square feet of sod and 15
cubic yards of topsoil. And with the help of fellow scouts and their parents,
they tilled the ground and laid the sod last Saturday and Sunday. A great
example of our school and its community working together!!! Please click here to see
the before and after photos.

The
Odyssey of the Mind competition teaches students to learn creative problem
solving methods while having fun in the process. On April 5th at
the State Finals, our team placed second in Division II for the "Road

powered vehicle that traveled through 3 "stops" where it performed
tasks related to sports. Team members are Courtney Carterette, Kimberly
Chang-Haines, Annie Driscoll, Helen Girod, Nicole Nungaray, Emily St. Marie,
and Eric Straw. Wish them luck as they prepare for the World
Finals in Maryland on May 31 - June 3. The Odyssey Team is
seeking financial support for travel expenses. For more information on
how you can help, please contact Jan St. Marie at aomsodyssey@gmail.com .
