Adopt-A-Family
Happy Holidays! Once again Aviara Oaks Middle School will be participating in the Carlsbad Christmas Bureau's Adopt-A-Family program. This is our opportunity to help those who are in need.  Your child's 1st period class has adopted a family so please select one of the names on the list and bring in a gift for him or her. Please mark the package with the person's name and family number. Our gifts are scheduled to be picked up on December 14th, so shop early. Thanks in advance for your participation in this worthwhile holiday project.

Holiday Canned Food Drive
Aviara Oaks will also be conducting a Holiday Canned Food Drive. Please bring your canned food item to school and drop it in the container located in front of the school any time, before December 13th.  Happy Holidays! Together we CAN make a difference!

Video Game Ratings
Some video games are for Kids. Some aren't.  In order to make informed purchase decisions, parents should check the ESRB rating on every computer or video game box.  The ESRB rating system has two parts: the Rating Symbols suggesting age appropriateness and Content Descriptors indicating elements in a game that may triggered a particular rating. Parents and other consumers can search for rating information before they go shopping by visiting www.esrb.org.  In addition, for general information about media safety including video games, TV shows, movies and the Internet, go to www.pta.org/mediasafety.
