Community Forum on
Carlsbad High School Task Force Recommendations at AOE
Tonight In response to the upsurge of considerable
discussion regarding the preliminary recommendations of the High
School Task Force, the AOE PTA will be hosting a community forum on
Tuesday, Feb 13th at 6:30 p.m. in the AOE auditorium. In
attendance will be Kelli Moors, President, CUSD Board of Trustees
and Dr. John Roach, Superintendent. The purpose of the meeting
is to provide an opportunity for interested community members to
discuss the issues at hand so that those comments/concerns can be
shared with other CUSD board members. In addition, these
members of the school board will discuss what the process will
entail in the next few months. This will be an AOE PTA sponsored
event.
Important Attendance
Notice All student's
absences must be reported to Aviara Oaks Middle School Attendance
Hotline (331-6170) each day the student is absent. Our
automated attendance dial out system calls out each evening to those
parents who have not reported a student absent before 3:15 PM
that day. (If you are not getting a courtesy call, please call the
office at 331-6100 to update your phone information.) Aviara
has almost 900 students and one attendance clerk. Due to the high
volume of unverified absences, we will no longer be able to call a
2nd time or send out notices, when parents do not respond to our
automated system. Any absence not called in, will be marked as
unexcused. Once a student has a total of three unexcused
absences, they are classified as truant and the District Supervisor
of Attendance will be notified of the truancy.
If a student has been deemed truant, the
family may be referred to the Student Attendance Review Board (SARB)
and may be directed to appear before SARB. Members of SARB
include a Carlsbad Police Officer, the San Diego County SARB
Director, the Juvenile Justice Panel Coordinator, two school
district nurses, and a member from Oceanside Lifeline.
Don't Miss This Years' "Come To
the Cabaret" 3/30 A showcase of talents of AOMS
