Attendance
All absences must be called in to our 24-Attendance Line at 760.331.6170. Student's who have been absent for medical reasons for more than 3 days, must have a doctor's note for those absences.  Absences that are not called in will be marked as unexcused. If your child is late, he/she must stop in the office to get a late slip to clear their absence.

Schools do not receive funding from the state for students who are absent, whether the absence is excused or unexcused.  A child is not considered absent if they have attended any portion of the school day.  Therefore, students may be brought in late or checked out early for medical appointments.  California Law states that a parent or guardian must have their child attend school until the age of 18, daily, unless the child is verifiably ill (doctors note required after 3 days), excused for medical appointments or for other legally acceptable reasons.  According to Board Policy, a student is at risk of retention if he/she has missed 18 days of school (excused or unexcused) per school year.  Students missing school for unexcused reasons will not be provided with work in advance.
