Drivers
Needed for Holocaust Speaker On Monday, March 26th at
11:20AM, Livia Krancberg, a Holocaust survivor, will be speaking to
our 8th graders in conjunction with their studies about Anne Frank.
We need drivers and/or transportation funds to pick her up from her
home in the SDSU College area by 10:30AM and to bring her home after
speaking to the students around 12:45. If you are interested in

"Hollywood Nights" Concert This Friday
3/23 The AOMS Band and Orchestra are celebrating
the music of Hollywood at their next concert "Hollywood
Nights" in the AOMS Multi-Purpose Room. There are
two showings including a Gourmet Pasta
Dinner:the Orchestras and a Chamber Ensemble
Group will be showcased at
6:00PM, and the Bands will perform
their own selections at 7:30PM. As a
special treat, the new Jazz Band will be performing with Wayne
Johnson as well! Tickets are now on sale, $10 per person
(student meal free with at least one pre-paid
admission/$40 max per household). You

Attention 8th Grade Students and
Parents 3/29 AOMS PTSA will host CHS
Principal Maggie Stanchi and representatives from the 9th Grade
CHS Smaller Learning Communities at its next general meeting on
March 29th at 6:30PM in the MPR/Gym. Our
guests will provide information for your incoming 9th Graders
about CHS and answer any questions that you may have. Advance
questions can be emailed to AOMSPTSA@gmail.com. 8th grade students and their parents are encouraged
to attend. In addition, the PTSA will make any changes needed
to the annual budget, receive the mid-year audit report,
and elect next year's Executive Board. We look
forward to seeing you there!
Don't Miss This Years' "Come To
the Cabaret" 3/30 A showcase of talents of AOMS
students and staff is being presented Friday, March 30th
for two shows only at 6:00 and 7:30 PM. Reserved Seats
are $20 per person with a limited number sold.
General Seating is $10 per person on a first come basis.
Ticket order forms are available in the AOMS office or by
clicking here. General Seating Tickets can be purchased at the Box
Office prior to each show. All proceeds benefit the AOMS Drama
Department.
"Islands" Restaurant
Night 4/3 Join us for a restaurant night on
Tuesday, April 3rd from 5:00pm to close at the Islands Restaurant
(Palomar Airport location only). This fundraiser is to support
the 8th grade promotion activities. Download a flyer

2007/2008 Transfer Request
Procedures Applications are required yearly for any
student not attending their neighborhood school inside or outside
our district boundaries. Families who are currently attending
Aviara Oaks Middle School on a transfer, must also apply
annually. Approval will be granted if student maintains
satisfactory attendance, citizenship, maintains at least a 2.0 or
higher GPA each grading period and adequate room exists at our
school. Transfer applications are accepted at the District Office
and school site. All applications MUST be turned in by March
30, 2007. No exceptions.

Discovery Center to
Host World Water Festival 3/25 Join us on Sunday, March
25th from 10am-4pm as we celebrate World Water
Day at the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Discovery Center. The events
will include: talks on
water-related themes; water-related crafts for the
kids; educational shows by Dr.
Zoolittle; prizes and giveaways; live wildlife; booths and displays relating to
various water issues and a preview of the African Rain Dance show featured at
the San Diego Wild Animal
Park. The event is free but parking will be limited so please
try to carpool with your
neighbors. Refreshments will be served. The

The Carlsbad Police Department's GUIDE Program
is offering a 10-week course called Parent ProjectŠ starting March
27, 2007. The award winning Parent Project is a highly
structured parenting skills program designed for Parents who are
facing the challenges of parenting strong-willed, non-compliant
and/or out of control children ages 11-18. The instructors of
Parent Project are Lynda Lennox and Penny Velazquez, licensed
Marriage and Family Therapists and independent contractors with the
Carlsbad Police Department. The fee for the class
materials is $25 for an individual and $35 for a couple. To

Last Dance of the Year! The last dance is Wednesday, March 28th
from 2:10 - 3:30pm in the AOMS gymnasium. Wear red
and receive a prize. There will be games, pizza, prizes
and dancing as well as a raffle for many prizes and gift
certificates. Remember to have your ID card ready;
admission is $5.oo without an ASB sticker. The ramp
doors to the gymnasium will be open until 2:30pm. There
will be no admission after 2:30pm and the dance will let out
at 3:30pm. Please plan your ride accordingly. If
parents would like to chaperone, please contact Mrs. Tavares

Annual KAWAM Telethon 3/22 The KAWAM Telethon is
Thursday, March 22nd and will be televised live on Time Warner Channel 3 and on www.chstv.com at CHS from
6-9pm. Donations
can be made by calling 929-1555 before the Telethon and
there will be another number to
call the night of the Telethon (this number will be given out next week).
Donations of $1000 or more can be walked on the
night of the Telethon.
