HELP! Test Proctors
Needed 5/7-5/16 Parent volunteers are needed to assist
with the STAR (Standardized Testing and Reporting) TEST as Classroom
Test Proctors May 7 through May 16, 2007 from 8:10 am to
approximately 10:30 am. If you are available to help on one or
more of these days, please contact our STAR Test Site Coordinator,
Mrs. Ruby, at 331-6100 ext. 6172 or via email at vruby@hotmail.com asap.
Washington DC trip for School Year
07-08 The trip to DC is already in the planning
stages. It will take place from the 5th of April to the 10th
of April 2008. The early sign up is starting now and those
signing up before April 30th of this year can save $90 of the
cost. Total cost , not including the early sign up discount
for this year is $1805.00 and includes airfare, meals, hotels,
transportation, and admissions. An informational meeting
will be held on Tuesday April 24, 2007 at 6:30 in room
1803 at the school and informational packets will be sent home with
7th graders. If you have questions contact Mike Ruppert at ext

North County Grand Tasting Tour!
4/20 Join us for the next stop on the Grand Tasting
Tour. Friday April 20th. $5 from every ticket purchased will be donated
back to FAME foundation , in addition
to the 10% of all purchases when you

the Garden: Carlsbad's Garden Treasures 4/22 The
CarlsbadArtsPartnership cordially invites you to its First Annual
Garden Tour, Sunday, April 22, 2007, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

on CHS PTA Board 2007-2008 CHS is looking for
individuals to fill the following positions on the PTA Board
next year.
Co-Secretary Membership
- Two people, time commitment is Aug. &
Sept. Co-Registration - time commitment
is Aug. & Sept. Co-Mini
Grants Programs - Two people are needed to
organize 2-3 programs throughout the
year. Homecoming - Two people are
needed to organize food for float building during Homecoming
week. PSAC - Attends monthly
meetings with the district superintendent.
The board meets
every other month in the evenings and it is run by a group of very
fun and very dedicated parents. If you are interested in any of

Baby Sitting Classes Back by Popular
Demand!!! American Red Cross Babysitting Training
course will be offered
again by the PTSA just in time for your child to make some
money for the summer. The course
will take place on April 24th and April
25th from 2:15-5:30PM in Room 1601 (Mrs. Riis' room).
You must attend both days to be certified. See the flyer
posted here for a course description and requirements! The
cost is only $65 and includes a babysitter pin and handbook.
Registration form and money can be turned into the front
office. Registration deadline is April 19th. Maximum of 12
people so it is a first come, first served! For questions,
please call June Steffy at 804-0313.
Notice: 8th Graders Taking English
Honors Next Year All students who are not
automatically enrolled need to challenge if they want to take Freshman Honors English at CHS.
Automatic enrollment requires a 5 on the
CST and an A in first semester honors English.

23-26 Time:
3:15-4:15 Materials: blue
or black pen, a pencil AND white line notebook paper
(mandatory for
taking the test) Room:
initially report to room 816 at CHS and check the posted
schedule to se where the test will be given.
No make-up
times or days will be offered. Please avoid putting off taking the test until
the last day as seating is limited!
