The
Aviara Oaks Middle School Orchestra Department offers both a Beginning Orchestra (for brand new and players with little experience) and an Intermediate Orchestra (more experienced players).
Each orchestra meets on a daily basis within the school day. Our instrumental music groups encourage and promote academic excellence, and an exciting by-product of concerts and festivals in which members of the Orchestra are involved.
Through the making of music, all participants work towards the following musical and non-musical goals:
1 - to develop an appreciation of music and an understanding of music fundamentals by becoming skilled in playing a musicl instrument.
2 - to provide a vehicle for developing creativity, self-expression and self-confidence.
3 - to develop self-discipline, organizational skills, responsibility and the ability to cooperate with others.
4 - to promote a positive self-image and feeling of self-woth through individaul accomplishment and group success.
5 - to have fun.

WHO:
Parents of students involved in band, choir, drama, musical theater, and orchestra are “booster” members. Friends and family members can also be booster members by volunteering a gift of time or financial support to the Performing Arts at AOMS.
WHAT:
AOMS Arts Boosters was formed in January 2002 by supportive parents to sustain the efforts of teachers who passionately offer our students a high quality education in the arts.
WHEN:
The Board meets each month to discuss the needs of the teachers and students and plan various fund raisers to meet these needs. Everyone is welcome at these meetings. Dates and times are announced each month via the AOMS Update email, Falcon Flyer Newsletter, and flyers sent home with students.
WHY:
Our goal is to provide funding for the various programs provided by the Performing Arts Department. This includes the annual S.T.O.P. performance, Winter Festival, Concerts and Theatrical Performances. We also provide funding for equipment maintenance, equipment purchases, sheet music purchases, festival fees, performance fees and transportation.
HOW:
Being involved with the Performing Arts Boosters is a great way to support students in the band, choir, drama, musical theater, and orchestra. Attend the monthly meeting to see how you can help or give us your name, phone number, and/or email address. We will contact you regarding upcoming events!
